What is a Share?
Shares are the last component of Connect Mix Share. Shares allow you to connect your data to other organisations, services and tools. You will need to Connect at least one of your data sources and create at least one Mix to be able to share your data.
We provide a variety of different share methods that support you to do more with your connected and transformed data. This can be as simple as sharing a Mix with another organisation, enabling live and secure data sharing between everyone. Our Shares allow you to set up alerts for monitoring, automate surveys for further data collection, power live dashboards and much more.
Creating and managing a share typically follows the steps and processes below:
1. Creating Shares
You can add a new Share via the 'Create a share' button on the Share page or selecting a share method towards the bottom of the Share page. All Shares require at least two parts: a Mix and a share method:
Mix Selection
Select one the Mixes you've previously created to be used in the Share. You can only use one Mix per Share. All of the data that is available within your Mix will be available to the Share. Any changes to the data or query within the Mix will automatically update the Share.
Share Method
Select the most appropriate sharing method for your Mix. If you're unsure or need further support, contact us for help.
Confirmation
Your sharing method (Alert, Power BI, Survey, User etc) will determine what fields are required on the last confirmation and setup page. In most cases, you will only need to provide a name for your Share.
2. Share Details
Each sharing method has a different page to help guide you on the next steps. These pages will contain sensitive information, such as links and passwords, that need to be used with the connecting service or passed to the organisation you want to connect with.
Some of the sharing methods, such as our alerts and surveys, will provide you with much more information. This can include an overview of your sent, open and completed rates, as well as actions to manually queue and send responses.
